Demond Jones Obituary

A time to be born, Demond Quinton Jones entered this world on July 29, 2000 in Ahoskie, NC. A time to die, he departed this earthly life on November 20, 2019.

Demond was educated in the public schools of Gates County. He was a proud Red Baron, graduating with the Class of 2018. Demond loved football and he played with the Gates County Hurricanes Little League Football Team as a youth. His love for football continued through middle and high school. He cherished his team and gave 100% of himself while on the field.

Upon graduation, Demond was employed by Huntington Ingalls Shipyard in Newport News, VA as a crane operator.

Demond was a disciple of the Greater Saunders Grove Missionary Baptist Church where he served as the drummer.  Playing drums was his forte and he learned to do it with much style, grace, and enthusiasm.  Anointed for such a time as this, Demond was a blessing to the music ministry.

The life of every party, Demond was outgoing, friendly, vivacious, and had a genuine smile that would light up the room. He was a lover of people and enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved fashion and took pleasure in shopping for the latest trends and styles.

On Sunday, November 17, 2019 at 2:25 p.m., Demond posted this saying on his facebook  page:

“In a few months ima be better than I am right now, just watch!” Today, Demond is better because he is rejoicing with his heavenly Father that he accepted as his Lord and Savior at an early age and rededicated his life to Him last year.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories and will be greatly missed by: his parents, Charles & Shallond Beamon and Ernest & Raina Riddick; two brothers, Justus Beamon, Travis Riddick; one sister,  Jermia Riddick; grandparents, Mary Ann Beamon, Barbara Jones, “Papa” Melvin Hunter; his Honorary big brother, Jonathan Smith; aunts, Tracy Bradshaw, Selena Beamon; uncles, Retired Chief Sergeant

Shirley Jones, Jr., Keith (Carolyn) Jones, George Beamon, Ronald Beamon; a very special friend, Derricia Leary, along with a host of cousins, other relatives, and close friends.
