Tobe Ruffin

God in His infinite wisdom called our son, brother, and uncle, Tobe Antonio Ruffin to his heavenly home on Sunday, March 31st.

Tobe was educated in the Gates County School System and received other training which enabled him to work as a correctional officer, a deputy at Gates Co. Sheriff Department, and NC Department of Transportation.

At an early age, Tobe joined First Baptist Roduco where he served faithfully doing the Lord’s work.

An energetic, compassionate and caring person, Tobe leaves to cherish his memory, a daughter, Ta’Mya Ruffin; an unborn son; his finance’, Faran Sawyer; mother, Sharon Gatling; father, Tobe S. Ruffin; brother, Donald Lee Gatling; sister, Shawnta Ruffin (Mark); grandmothers, Juanita Gatling and Nora Ruffin; five aunts, Kaye Ruffin, Vernessa Ruffin Riddick, Rita Beverly, Cynthia Ruffin-Moore, and Chinita W. Hayer (Alain); seven uncles, Wayne, Douglas, Ervin, and Linwood Gatling, Christopher Hathaway, Randy Hathaway (Wanda), and Timothy Ruffin (Juletta) and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

 A celebration of life will take place on Sunday April 7, 2019 at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church at 2:00pm.  The family will receive members of the community and friends on Saturday April 6, 2019 from 4:00pm-7:00pm at the funeral home.  His final resting place will be at First Baptist Roduco Church Cemetery.
