Alfred L. “Bud” Eason was born on August 7, 1943, to the late Lowell and Ollie Kee Eason in Hobbsville, NC. He took the hand of Jesus and departed this life on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Sentara Albemarle Medical Center, Elizabeth City, North Carolina.
Alfred lived a wonderful full life. He was educated in the public schools in Gates County, NC.
Growing up as a child he began farming and raising crops and did so for many years.
Alfred joined Joppa Missionary Baptist Church at an early age and remained active until his health begin to decline.
Early in life, his passion was racing and on the weekends that’s where you’d find him along with many others.
In addition to his parents, Alfred was preceded in death by three brothers: William Eason, Louis Eason, and Samuel Eason; and two sisters: Lois Eason and Liza Eason.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories, two daughters, Margaret Knight and Cathy Blow of Gates, NC, one son, Donnell Lassiter of Hobbsville, NC.; one grandson, Seddrick Blow of Corapeake, NC.; four great-grandchildren, Semiyah Saunders of Gates, NC, Khaidyn, Jameer, and Elijah Blow of Corapeake, NC; one sister, Alice Lassiter of Sunbury, North Carolina, five brothers, Willie Eason of Waterbury, Connecticut, Hallet Eason of Sunbury, North Carolina, Harry Eason of Hobbsville, North Carolina, Rev Charles Eason of Hertford, North Carolina, and Donald Eason of Tyner, North Carolina; A special cousin whom was another brother to him, James “Jim” Kee of Hobbsville, NC; Children he raised; Stephen Brinkley, Bernice Brinkley, Una Brown, Sheila Brown, Mary Henry, and Brenda Jordan; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and friends.
We will celebrate Alfred's life starting on Friday March 28, 2025, family and friends are invited to join us as we honor his memory and share stories of the joy he brought into our lives, with a viewing and visitation from 4pm to 7pm at the funeral home.
Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday March 29, 2025, 12 noon at Joppa Missionary Baptist Church, in Hobbsville.
Final resting place for "Budd" will be at the Kee family cemetery in Hobbsville.
