Alvester Hurdle succumbed to the frailties of life on December 18, 2025. He was exactly one month prior to his 69th birthday. The eldest child of Emily Hurdle and George Lee Hurdle that awoke
into this life on January 18, 1957. Alvester grew up in the Carter Crossroads and Indian Neck area of Gates County, North Carolina with family. Alvester was well known to family and friends
with his dominant nickname, "Snack". He attended and graduated from Gates County High School in 1975. Alvester was considered as the person of intellect of the family. It was revealed by classmates that he never studied for tests but passed them all. He scored very high on the Navy entrance exam and was placed in employment at an Embassy. With his superb math skills,
he tutored neighbors and friends later in life. Alvester is survived by his siblings, Emily Hurdle, Johnnie Hurdle, and Lorenza Hurdle. His sister, Lydia Clark is also deceased. He has a host of nieces and nephews, including Shaneka Hurdle, Shonte Gillette, and Joseph Clark, including many great nieces and nephews. Alvester is loved and cherished by family and friends.
