Angela E Harvey

Angela Eloise Bond Harvey was born July 3, 1966 in Brooklyn, New York. She is the daughter of Isadora and Herbert Bond of Sunbury, North Carolina. She received her education in Brooklyn, New York, finishing her final year of high school at Gates County High in North Carolina, where she graduated in 1984.

At an early age, Angela “Angie” accepted the Lord as her Savior in Christ. When she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011, her faith never wavered. She told the doctors, “I want to continue to do the Lord’s work while I still can.”

She was cancer free until 2019 and even though faced with more challenges, she remained positive. When her family would feel down thinking of all she is endured, Angie would say, “no…no pity parties, God is in control”. When times would get rough, she found strength by calling on the Lord. She would sing and praise her way through her pain.

She was a faithful employee of the Department of Social Services of Mecklenburg County of Charlotte, NC. Though at times a challenging job, Angie truly believed this was a job she was ordained to do.

Angie leaves to cherish her memories: mother and father, Isadora and Herbert Bond of Sunbury, NC. Five aunts: Hazel Smith (James) maternal of Baltimore, MD; Rita Esau maternal of Far Rockaway, NY; Rosa D. Brown paternal of Mt Vernon, NY; Olia Mae Taylor (James) paternal of Charlotte, NC; Linda Bond (Edward) paternal of Charlotte, NC. Two uncles: George A. Hayer maternal of Corapeake, NC.; Floyd Bond paternal of Sunbury, NC and a host of cousins and friends.

A celebration of life will take place on Saturday January 16, 2021 at 11:00am at New Middle Swamp Baptist Church.  The family will  receive members of the community on Friday January 15, 2021 from 3:00pm-6:00pm at the funeral home.
