Arnold "Benny" R. Cross

Benny’s Life Journey…

God Sent his Angel to take Our Loved one, Arnold Riddick Cross, to rest on Wednesday, April 26, 2023.

Arnold Riddick Cross, was affectionately known as Benny or Big Dog.

Benny was born on January 18, 1962, in Franklin, VA to the late Alonza Riddick Cross and Earleen Smith Cross.

At an early age Arnold "Benny” accepted Christ at Stoney Branch Baptist Church.  Benny graduated From Gates County High School in 1981.

Benny then started to work with Portsmouth paving which later became E. V. Williams with his brother “Huckleberry”.  They eventually worked together at Branscome Inc. and then moved on to Virginia Paving Company for Several years in Road Construction.

Benny was loved by everyone.  He loved to build race cars and going to the track to watch them drag race.  He also loved to fish and hunt. I know you are up there talking to your brother catching up on loss time.

In addition to his parents, Benny was also preceded in death by his brother Clinton Murray Cross " Huckleberry" and his Niece, Nijina Deandra Cross

Benny leaves to cherish his memories, two sister Rita F Cross of Fort Washington, MD, and Brenda C Parker (Brian) of Gates NC, and one brother Javon L. Cross (Michelle) of Eure, NC; two Aunts Madge C Porter, Faye D Smith (Roger) both of Gates, NC,; two Uncles Floyd C Cross (Helen) and Pollard C Godwin both of Gates, NC and a host of Nieces and Nephews, Cousin, and friends.

A viewing and visitation will take place on Monday May 1, 2023, from 4pm -7pm at the funeral home.

A celebration of a beautiful life well lived will take place on Tuesday May 2, 2023, 1pm at Upper Room Assembly Church in Gatesville, NC

Arnold "Benny" will be greatly missed, please keep the entire Cross family in your prayers.
