Aubrey Wilson was born on February 29, 1952 to the late James Forest Wilson, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth. He departed this life on Monday, June 11, 2018. Aubrey knew the Lord and he had a relationship with Him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three brothers, Henry Lee, Johnny, and James Forest Wilson, Jr., one sister Peggy Addison, and one granddaughter Treyel Johnson.
Aubrey attended the public schools in Gates County. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and received a Medal of Honor for Bravery. Aubrey rescued one of his fellow soldiers crossing a mine field.
Aubrey was called a “Jack of All Trades”. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix. He mastered certain areas like plumbing, construction and lawn care. Aubrey loved to dance, dress to the “T” and he had a passion for cars. He was famous for his love of wearing his hats.

Norfleet of Jacksonville, FL, two step-sons, Demetrius Dildy of Waterbury, CT, Damien Jordan of Edenton, NC., two brothers, Melvin Wilson (Stella) of Tyner, NC, Earl Wilson (Fannie) of Waterbury, CT, one sister Elizabeth Gallop of Edenton, NC; four aunts: Marion Overton and Ellen Eason of Hobbsville, NC, Doris Wilson and Pecola Wilson of Corapeake, NC; five brothers in law: Leroy Jordan of Hobbsville, NC, James A. Jordan of Edenton, NC, Lonnie Lee Jordan of Gatesville, NC, Charlie Jordan of Corapeake, NC and Leo Addison of Bishopville, SC; two sisters in law Pauline Wilson of Hobbsville, NC and Alice Taylor (Isaac) of Edenton, NC. Three grandchildren, two great grandchildren, step grandchildren, and a host of niece, nephews, and cousins

The family will receive friends on Saturday June 16, 2018 at the funeral home from 4:00pm-7:00pm.

A celebration of life will take place on Monday June 18, 2018 at 2:00pm at Blanchard's Grove Church.

The final resting place for Mr. Wilson will be at the Wilson Family cemetery.
