Bessie Hawk

Bessie Hawk, 91,  of Savage Road, Corapeake, NC went to be with the Lord on April 19, 2021. She was a native of North Carolina and the daughter of the late Collie and Florine Hawk.

She was preceded in death by sisters, Lola Crawford, Sadie Ralph, Willie Mae Jenkins, Pauline Hawk; brothers, Ernest Lee Hawk and her beloved baby brother Issac Hawk, Jr.preceded in death by sisters, Lola Crawford, Sadie Ralph, Willie Mae Jenkins, Pauline Hawk; brothers, Ernest Lee Hawk and her beloved baby brother Issac Hawk, Jr.

She retired from GoldKist Peanuts Company. She was a member of New Middle Swamp Missionary Baptist Church.

She was adored by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as all of her family and friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister.

She leaves to cherish her memory a devoted daughter, Helen Hawk Lane of Newport News, VA; sisters: Carlether Jones of Louisburg, NC, Margaret Hawk and Erma Lee Hawk Moore of Corapeake, NC; brothers: Claud Edward Hawk and Hurley Hawk of  Corapeake, NC; grandchildren: Michael Hawk and Robin Scott of Hampton, VA Monte Scott of  Virginia Beach, VA; great-grandchildren: Tremayne Hawk of Corapeake, NC, Shaqira Hawk of Tacoma, Washington, Raheem Scott, Jamal Scott, Judah Scott of Virginia Beach, VA, Desmond Hawk of Hampton, VA, Layla Johnson of Hampton, VA, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Family will receive friends on Friday April 23, 2021 from 3:00pm-6:00pm at the funeral home.  A celebration of life will take place on Saturday April 24, 2021 at 1:00pm at New Middle Swamp Baptist Church
