Blannie Riddick

Ms. Blannie Riddick, 93, of Ahoskie, NC.  On the morning of Nov. 21, 2017 God called His humble servant home.  Blannie Lee Riddick was born on June 16, 1924 to the late Nelson and Nettie Lee who preceded her in death.  Blannie joined Calvary Missionary Baptist Church as a young woman.  She attended until her health started to decline.  Blannie was known for her saying "Hey baby" and she always had a way of making you smile.  Cooking and sewing were some of her favorite hobbies.  She helped raise (2) nieces, Maxine Harrell and Sharlean Vaughan of Ahoskie (2) nephews, the late Clarence Lee and Michael Lee.  Left to cherish her wonderful memories are (1) son, Melvin Riddick of Ahoskie, NC, (2) sisters, Gracie Freeman of Ahoskie, NC and Irene Lee of Lewiston, NC, (2) brothers, Joe Lee of Ahoskie, NC and Willie Lee (Joyce) of Cleveland Ohio, (3) brothers preceded her in death, Robert Lee, Frank Lee, and Nelson Lee, (3) sisters, Beulah Sessoms, Nettie Wilkins, and Queen Slade. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday December 1, 2017 from 4-7pm.  A celebration of life will be held on Saturday December 2, 2017 at 1pm at Calvary Baptist Church 600 N. Catherine St. Ahoskie, NC. Mrs. Riddick remains will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Cemetery, Ahoskie, NC.
