Carlether Hawk Jones

Carlether Hawk Jones, 86, of Louisburg, NC went to be with the Lord on January 28, 2022. Born on January 24, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Collie and Florine Hawk.

Carlether was married to the late James Earl Jones. Carlether was known by her sisters and brothers as “Little Sister”.  Carlether loved to travel. She was a faithful  member of Covenant Community Church of Suffolk, Va. until her health started declining.  One of her favorite tv shows was Golden Girls.

Carlether was preceded in death by her daughter, Earlene Parker; sisters, Lola Crawford, Sadie Ralph, Willie Mae Jenkins, Pauline Hawk, and Bessie Hawk; brothers, Ernest Lee Hawk, Isaac Hawk, and Hurley Hawk.

She leaves to cherish her memories, four daughters; JoAnn Hartsfield (Stanley) of Louisburg, NC, Patricia Daniels of Portsmouth, Va, Elaine Parker and Bernice Jones of Newport News, Va; one son, James Earl Jones, Jr. (Deidre) of Hampton, Va; two sisters, Margaret Hawk and Erma Lee Hawk Moore of Corapeake, NC; one brother, Claude Edward Hawk; a grandmother of twelve and a closer granddaughter, Shavon; five great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A viewing and visitation will be on Friday February 4, 2022 from 3:00pm-6:00pm.  A celebration of life will be held on Saturday February 5, 2022 at 1:00pm at True Vine Church of Deliverance.

The final resting place for Mrs. Jones will be at the Jones-Hawk Memorial Garden.
