Chinita Smith

An angel whispered and took her hand

And said, “Come With Me, Your Work Here Is Done”

Chinita Harris Smith was born February 22, 1962 to the late Robert Lee Harris, Sr. and  Vivian Estella Hobbs Harris.  God gently called her home on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at  Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Va.

Chinita was educated in the Gates County Public School system. She was a proud graduate of Gates County High School Class of 1980.

Chinita was employed at Smithfield Packaging Company in Smithfield, Virginia for ten years.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Robert and Vivian Harris and one sister, Maggie Hobbs.

Her precious memories will linger in the hearts of her three sons, Princeton Smith of Winston Salem, NC, Antwan (Bam-bam) Smith of Richmond, Va, and William Watson, Jr. of Charlotte, NC; one daughter, Jenale Smith of Sunbury, NC; seven grandchildren; Jamel Pruden, Saniyah Pruden, Ariana Pruden, Jaden Pruden, Jaziah Pruden, Jaycel Smith, and Nyla Smith; three sisters, Peggy Boone (Norman) of Suffolk, Va, Joyce Ann Outland of Elizabeth City, NC, and Vivian Brown of Churchland, Va; three brothers, Robert Lee Harris, Jr. (Pamela) of Gatesville, NC, Roosevelt Harris (Valerie) of  Sunbury, NC, and Richard Counsel of Ohio; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

 A celebration of life will take place on Saturday November 11, 2017 at Metropolitan Baptist Church in Suffolk, VA at 1:00 pm.  The family will receive guests on Friday November 10, 2017 from 3:00p-8:00p at Community of Hope Funeral Service.
