After graduation, he began working at Brighton Meadows in Brooklyn, New York. From there, he joined the Navy in October 1984 and served until October of 1992. After the move Clarence worked at Perdue until he stopped working to help take care of his mother. In 2021 Clarence’s health declined and he was called home on September 15, 2023.
