In humble submission to the will of God, we pause today to honor the life and legacy of a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Connie Lee Jordan entered into eternal rest on Thursday March 30, 2023 at home after a battle with cancer. She was born to the late Dorothy Riddick on May 15, 1956 in Newport News, VA..
She was raised by the late Ruby and John Henry Gholson in Gates, NC. She attended Gates County High School where she was a cheerleader. She continued her education at Roanoke Chowan Tech and acquired her degree in child development.
Connie married William Rulane Jordan on December 21, 1981. This union was blessed with four children Briana, Candis, Whitney and Michael.
Throughout the years, Connie taught preschool, was a childcare provider, daycare owner and was a faithful military wife. She and her family traveled the world from Germany, France, Italy, Prague and Austria to many places across the US. Even while moving from place to place, she made sure that the family found a church home. Connie loved singing gospel songs, shopping with her daughters and spending time with family and friends. You could often find her at book club meetings with friends, Bible study at her church, Christian Tabernacle Outreach Ministry or shopping for her home or grandchildren. The Christmas season was her favorite time of the year and she enjoyed transforming her home for the holiday family gathering.
Her closest friends would describe Connie as “wise with a quietness”. She was humble, faithful, selfless, loving and kind but would let you know that only God is perfect. She was the sparkle in the room!
Connie leaves beautiful memories with her husband, William Rulane Jordan, her daughters Briana Rodriguez (Chris), Candis Halligan(Brandon), Whitney Sentine (Elijah) and Michael Jordan, 7 grandchildren, Brayden Halligan, Braxton Rodriguez, Blake Halligan, Cora Rodriguez, Caleb Sentine and Wesley Sentine. One sister, Linda Marsh and one brother Anthony Riddick (Mina), late brother, Bobby Riddick, sister-in-law Derinda Parker (Tracy), sister-in-law Sandra Jordan of Lowell, NC, 2 godsons Jerome Knight of Greensboro and Daniel Floyd of Hope Mills, NC and a host of relatives and friends.
