David S. Collins

Mr. David "Peabody" "Buddy" Collins 76 of Gates, North Carolina peacefully transitioned from this life on Tuesday August 9, 2022, with his loving family by his side.  David was born September 23, 1945, in Gates, North Carolina to Major and Lucille Collins.  After graduating high school, he enlisted in the US Army with his brothers.  After leaving the Army, he spent some time in New Jersey before moving back to Gates where he was employed by Damco.

David is preceded in death by his parents Major and Lucille Collins, his brothers Harold and Herman Collins, and his sisters Yvonne and Shirley Collins.  He leaves behind to cherish his memories one daughter Yolanda Carden; two sisters Ruby Price and Shelia Collins; three nieces Mia, Aylia, and Ivy; one nephew Aaron, and a host of cousins and other family members.

A viewing and visitation will take place at the funeral home on Friday August 12, 2022, from 4pm-7pm.

A Funeral service celebration will take place on Saturday 1pm at the Collins-Howell Family Cemetery in Suffolk, Va.
