Dexter A. Rodgers of Murfreesboro NC departed this life on Sunday, June 9, 2024. He was born on May 31, 1972, in Ahoskie, NC to John E. Rodgers, Sr. and Dorothy M. Rodgers.
Dexter was a graduate of Gates County High School class of 1990. He was employed with Hendrix Barnhill until his health started to fail. On December 16, 2014, Dexter was joined in holy matrimony to Tu-Shanda Branch. To this union was born one son, Dexter A. Rodgers, Jr.
Dexter was proceeded in death by his maternal grandparents, Thomas E. and Alberta Moody, his paternal grandparents, Elisha and Venezuela Rodgers, his brother Nicholas T. Rodgers, his grandson, Aaron Jr, and his father-in-law, Jessie Branch
Dexter leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Tu-Shanda Rodgers; his five children, Jyrius T. Wills of Gastonia, NC; Jermaine Rodgers of Virginia; Taisa Rodgers of Ahoskie; Ra-Kim Banks and Dexter (DJ) Rodgers, Jr of the home; his father, John E. Rodgers, Sr of Murfreesboro, Nc; his mother Dorothy Rodgers of Murfreesboro, NC; two brothers, John(Connie), Michael(LaShawnda); two sisters, Phyllis (Adam) Flood, Tameaka(Aundray)Riddick; granddaughter, Braelynn Tann; mother in law Carolyn Branch; four aunts, five uncles, nine nieces, four nephews; a host of cousins, friends and other relatives.
A visitation will take place on Friday June 14, 2024, from 4pm to 7pm at the funeral home.
A celebration of life will take place on Saturday June 15, 2024, 1pm at The Upper Room Assembly Church.
Final resting place will be at the Rodgers Family Cemetery in Murfreesboro, NC
