Dora A Hawk

Dora Ann Hawk, lovingly known as “Doran,” age 78, of Corapeake, North Carolina, was born on January 6, 1948, in Newland Township of Pasquotank County to the late Miles Griffin and Ola Moore Griffin Hobbs. She peacefully departed this life and entered her heavenly home on Tuesday, March 17, 2026.

Dora was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Isaac Junior Hawk, Sr., and her beloved grandson, Isaac Jermaine Hawk.

A woman of unwavering faith, Dora was a loving mother, a resilient fighter, and a compassionate soul cherished by all who knew her. She was a devoted member of Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church and faithfully attended Pentecostal House of Prayer when she was not at her home church.

Dora dedicated over 30 years of service to Planters Peanuts, where she held many roles and was known for her strong work ethic, commitment, and dedication.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience carried on by her children: Stephanie Hawk of Corapeake, NC; Isaac Jr. Hawk III (Shenay) of Corapeake, NC; Tracy Hawk (Cheryl) of Suffolk, VA; and Alisha Hawk of Corapeake, NC.

She also leaves to cherish her memory four grandchildren: Tony D. Hawk, Christopher Hawk,  Da’Shawn Stokley, and Mi’kayla Hawk; a bonus grandson, Tevin Elliott; and twelve great-grandchildren: Aniya, Tiana, Lyric, Amari, Zoey, Skyler, Jermari, Diamond, Jaydan, Isaiah, DaKota, and Camden.

Dora is also survived by her sisters: Terrie Godfrey (Reuben) of Elizabeth City, NC; Judith Riddick of Newark, NJ; Lisa Walke of VA; and a bonus sister and dearest friend, Gwenette Griffin.

Her brothers include Miles Griffin Jr. (Michelle) of Elizabeth City, NC; Palmer Griffin Sr.; Roosevelt Griffin (Shaconda) of Suffolk Va. and Timothy Griffin of Norfolk, Va.

She is further survived by Deacon Glen Moore (Janie), Rubenia Alexander (Richard), and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at the funeral home for a time of viewing and reflection from 3:00pm to 6:00pm.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday March 29, 2026, at 2:00pm at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Elizabeth City, NC.

Final resting place for Dora will be at the New Middle Swamp Church Cemetery.
