Deaconess Doris Holley Jordan was born September 20, 1949 to the late Willis and Dorothy Holley of Chowan County. She entered into eternal rest on Friday, June 5, 2026, at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville, NC with family by her side.

Doris attended Chowan County Public Schools. She moved to New York and furthered her education and worked for Britannica Publishing Company. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing-2nd Timothy 4:7&8
