Florence L. Morings

Mrs. Florence Louise Nowell Morings, 91 of Eure, NC peacefully departed this earthly life on Friday, August 20, 2021 with her loving children by her side.

Florence was born on August 17, 1930 in Hobbsville, NC to the late Jessie and Estelle (Jordan) Nowell. 

Florence’s greatest accomplishment was accepting Christ as her personal savior.  She served faithfully as the Church Mother of New Life Pentecostal Holiness Church in Hertford, NC under the leadership of her son, Elder James H. Morings.

Florence was united in Holy Matrimony to Lillian L. Morings on December 20, 1947 and to this union seven children were born.

Florence was predeceased by her husband Lillian L.  Morings, a daughter, Sebird (Dianne) Powell and a great grandchild, Chrishon Morings.

Florence leaves to cherish her memories three daughters:  Betty Redding (Howard- deceased), Florence Harrell (Robert), and Cynthia Crandol (Greg) all of Eure, NC; three sons:  Claude Morings (Paulette), James Morings (Tamara), and Lee Morings (Gloria); one blessed daughter, Brenda Norfleet of Corapeake, NC; twelve grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren and she was also involved in the many lives of her many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. 

Florence was a friend to anyone she met young and old. She loved talking on the phone for hours talking about shopping and praying for different ones. She always said, “ the Lord was keeping her here to be a blessing to someone.” She was a blessing to many!

A viewing and visitation will take place on Tuesday,  August 24, 2021 from 3:00pm-6:00pm at the funeral home.  A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at 12:00pm at Carver Memorial Cemetery.
