George Lee Horton

Community of Hope Funeral Service announces the passing of Mr. George Lee Horton.  

Mr. George Lee Horton of Whitsett, NC went home to be with the Lord on March 20, 2017 at 1:40am under the loving care of Hospice of Greensboro (Beacon Place).  Born on July 28, 1937, Mr. Horton was a devoted husband and father.  

He was a United States Veteran of the Army.  George was well known for being a Master Barber at George's Barber Shop in Greensboro, NC.  He was also an entrepreneur and family man.  He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife Valerie T. Horton, six children; George Lee Horton II (Wanda), Vickie E. Horton-Nichols, Fatin H. Horton (Ursula), Diana L. Byrd, Michelle A. Lewis (Michael) and Tracey F. Curtis (Jesse); two sisters, Julia Horton and Yvonne Horton. Twelve grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, a host of special nieces and nephews and friends. 

George was a member of Evangel Fellowship Church in Greensboro, NC.

 Please join the family as they celebrate his life and legacy on Friday March 24, 2017.  The viewing and family hour will be from 11:00am-11:30am.  The homegoing service will begin at 11:30am.  The service will be held at Evangel Fellowship Church  2207 E. Cone Blvd., Greensboro, NC 27405.  The burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park in Burlington, NC.
