Helen M. Lane

Helen Marie Hawk Lane of Newport News, VA, departed this life and entered her life in eternity with the Lord on Thursday, October 21, 2021. She was the loving daughter of Bessie Hawk.

Helen was born on April 27th, 1948, in Corapeake, NC. She graduated from Central High School. She moved to Newport News, VA and worked for Siemens, afterwards she worked for Kinyo Virginia, Inc., leading to her retirement. 

Helen was member of Mercy and Truth Ministries in Newport News, VA. She was a strong woman of faith and a prayer warrior for her family. Helen always had time to pray for her family and share an encouraging word of faith. Her kind heart, loving spirit, and beautiful smile will remain in the hearts of everyone who knew her.

Helen leaves to cherish her memory two loving sons: Michael Hawk of Hampton, VA and Monte Scott of Virginia Beach, VA and her loving, devoted daughter Robin Scott of Hampton, VA; seven grandchildren: Tremayne Hawk of Hampton, VA, Shaqira Hawk of Tacoma, Washington, Raheem Scott, Jamal Scott, and Judah Scott of Virginia Beach, VA, Desmond Hawk of Hampton, VA, and Layla Johnson of Hampton. VA; one great-granddaughter: Aria Sanaa Hawk of Hampton, VA; an uncle: Claude Edward Hawk of Corapeake, NC; and three aunts: Carlether Jones of Louisburg, NC, Margaret Hawk and Erma Lee Hawk Moore of Corapeake, NC, and a host of beloved relatives and friends.

A viewing and visitation will take place at the funeral home on Friday, October 29, 2021 from 3:00pm-6:00pm.   A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at True Vine Church of Deliverance at 1:00pm.  The final resting place for Ms. Lane will be at New Middle Swamp Baptist Church cemetery.
