Iristeen Harvey

On Wednesday, September 17, 2025, Iristeen Nowell Harvey was called home by our Heavenly Father.

She was born on November 27, 1928, in Gates County, NC to the late William and Iris S. Nowell. She was educated in Gates County Public Schools.

At an early age, Iristeen joined Lebanon Grove Baptist Church where she was a faithful member until her health failed and she moved to Raleigh, NC to live with her daughter.

She was preceded in death by her husband Williams G. Harvey, two daughters: Minnie Boykins and Cheryl Harvey, one son, Alfred Harvey, all of her siblings, a grandson, Jason Harvey, and two daughters-in-law, Beverly Harvey and Stayce Harvey.

William and Iristeen were married in 1948 and had 10 children. Iristeen leaves a legacy of love and resilience through her remaining three daughters: Mary Ann Harvey of Raleigh, NC, Sadie Harvey of Waterbury, CT, and Pamela Harvey of Gates, NC; four sons: George Harvey of Atlantic City, NJ, Andrew Harvey of Rocky Mount, NC,  Glendon Harvey of Gatesville, NC, and Tracy Harvey of Suffolk, VA; 19 Grandchildren, numerous great and great-great grandchildren; foster sister, Christine Taylor and an adopted daughter, Sharion K. Boone. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Well done, good and faithful servant.

A viewing and visitation will take place on Thursday September 25, 2025, at the funeral home from 3pm to 6pm.

A celebration of life service will take place on Friday September 26, 2025, 12 noon at Lebanon Grove Baptist Church.

Final resting place will be at the Lebanon Grove Church Cemetery.
