Janetta Riddick was born October 11, 1968 to James Thomas Sr. and Annie Cornelia Riddick of Gatesville, North Carolina. She departed this life on January 11, 2025 at Sentara Obici Hospital, Suffolk, Va. She attended school in Gates County. She received her certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant from the College and Career Academy at Pruden in Virginia. She dedicated her life to Jesus Christ and lived the life she talked about. Her first spiritual foundation was under the leadership of Bishop Robert K. Knight, Apostolic Holiness Church, Sunbury, NC. She later resided to Virginia and became a member of Living Waters Christian Center, Suffolk, Va. under the leadership of Apostle Chris and Karyn Watson. Her deepest passion was helping others, praying for others, dining with family, spending time with her heartbeat, daughter Evette and loving on those great grand nieces and nephews.
She leaves to cherish her memories is her precious daughter Evette M. Watford of Virginia Beach, Va.; her loving parents, James and Annie Riddick of Gatesville, NC; two brothers: James T. Riddick Jr. of Ahoskie, NC; Johnnie R. Riddick (Ella) of Franklin, VA; one sister, Patricia A. Holloman (Jimmie) of Aulander, NC.
She also leaves to cherish her memories are her wonderful Uncles and Aunts; five uncles, Charlie C. Harrell of Washington, DC; Bishop John S. Harrell (Judith) of Portsmouth, Va; Seyon D. Harrell of Burton, MI; Herbert V. Harrell (Wanda) of Whaleyville, Va; Joe Ernest Riddick of Murfreesboro, NC; one aunt, Erma Lee Riddick-Lane of Cofield, NC.; six nieces, Zhane, Alaysia, LaShawnte, Ciara, LaTasha, and Jessica; one nephew, Johnnie Ray, Jr.; six great nieces; four great nephews and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
A viewing and visitation will take place on Friday January 24, 2025, from 4pm to 7pm at the funeral home.
A celebration of life service will take place on Saturday January 25, 2025, 1pm at Upper Room Assembly Church in Gatesville, NC
Final resting place will be at Apostolic Holiness Church in Sunbury, NC.
