Jared Eason, II Obituary

Jared Austin Eason, II was peacefully called to his heavenly home on Thursday, December 29, 2022.  He was the only child of Jared A. Eason and JoAnn Leary Vaughan.  He was a lifelong resident of Sunbury, NC.  He graduated from Gates County High School in 2006.

Austin had a heart for people and was fun to be around.  He had a passion for drag racing and was one of the best-known drivers in the area. Austin tried to find his special place in the world through several occupations.  He found his heart driving truck number F02 for  Gennarelli Hauling, “the cleanest purple dump truck on the road.”  His ultimate dream was to operate his own trucks through his business J.E. Operations, LLC.  Through this entity he  generously gave back to his community and those in need.

Austin was baptized and began his spiritual journey at St. John A.M.E. Zion Church in Sunbury, North Carolina.  He belonged to several clubs and for many years supported the music ministry by playing the drums.

Austin was proceeded in death by his paternal grandmother, Evelyn Eason, and maternal grandfather and grandmother Frank and Artmiller Leary.  Austin   remains in the hearts of his father, Jared A. Eason of the home; mother, JoAnn Vaughan (Archie) of Edenton, NC.  His  paternal grandfather, J. Winfield Eason of Sunbury, NC.  Four aunts, Marva Bond (George) of Sunbury, NC; Ida Leary of Edenton, NC; Alice Leary of Plymouth, NC and Barbara Leary; three uncles, Brian Eason of Sunbury, NC; Willie Joe Holley of Hobbsville, NC and Bernard White (Joslyn) of Edenton, NC; Special brothers, Michael “Trey” Hawk, Aaron “Ace” Eason and Derrick Baker; along with a host of cousins, relatives, friends and those of the racing and trucking communities.

A viewing and visitation will take place at the funeral home on Friday, January 6, 2023 from 3pm-6pm.

A funeral service to celebrate his wonderfull life will take place on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Gates County High School Gymnasium, Gatesville, NC.

Final resting place will be at the Gatling Cemetery.
