Jonathan Hawk

Jonathan D. Hawk affectionately known as "Johnny Cake", was born August 8, 1963 in Gates County, NC.  Born to Claude Hawk and the late Agnes Riddick Hawk.  Jonathan transitioned from this life on Monday January 21, 2019 at Accordius Health and Rehabilitation Center.  He was a native of Corapeake, NC and was educated in the Gates County Public School system. Jonathan joined Virginia-Carolina Temple in Suffolk, Va. at a young age. He was a very hard and dedicated worker; Jonathan loved his job as a Production worker with Smithfield Packaging Company.  To know "Johnny Cake" was to love him, and he will be truly missed.  Jonathan is survived by his father Claude Hawk, five brothers, Arthur Hawk of the home, Edward (Dorothy) Arline, James (Liffy) Hawk of Suffolk, Va., Sonny (Lois) Davis of Randolph, NJ, Lonnie (Sandra) Norman of Franklin, Va. Two sisters Josephine (Marvin) White of Chowan, NC, Dorothy Jean of Raleigh, NC, four aunts, one uncle and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A celebration of life will take place on Tuesday January 29, 2019 at 12:00p at New Middle Swamp Baptist Church.  The family will receive friends and members of the community on Monday January 28, 2019 from 4:00p-7:00p at the funeral home.
