Lana Perkins

Lana Perkins, age 67, of Gates, was called to rest on Monday, August 14, 2017. Lana was the only child born on April 8, 1950 in Hartford, CT to the late Frances Mae Perkins and George Madison. She grew up in New York. She previously worked at Smithfield Packing where she maintained her friendship with several of her co-workers.

Lana was vibrant. She loved music, dancing and having a good time. She was straightforward and had a great sense of humor. Lana spent a great deal of time with her grandchildren and enjoyed laughing and playing with them. Lana will be truly missed.

Lana leaves to cherish her memories her five children: Stephanie Knight (Lonzo Williams), Stacy Turner (Willie Turner), Tameka Knight (Antonio Wilson), Theodora Harrell and Theodore Knight; 9 grandchildren: Tykera Knight, Daniel Holland, Ca’Stachia Turner, Arnasia Harrell, Christian Turner, Damari Cooper, Jordan Knight, Jayson Ibiribigbe and Christian Wilson; 3 Aunts: Mary Ford of Landover, MD, Shirley Smith of Gates, NC and Jean Knight of Suffolk, VA; 2 Uncles: Walter Goodman (Mavis) and Raymond Goodman both of Suffolk, VA, a special friend: Theodore (Ted) Harrell  and a host of other family members and friends.
