Larry Donnell Beamon was born on October 13, 1953, in Gates County, North Carolina, to the late Thomas and Margaret Beamon. He departed this earthly life on June 22, 2025. A proud graduate of Gates County High School in 1974, he was deeply rooted in his community and the values instilled in him from a young age.
He dedicated over 20 years of service to Gwaltney of Smithfield, Virginia, where he was known for his strong work ethic and commitment, continuing until his health no longer allowed.
On December 20, 1997, Larry married the love of his life, the late Dorothy M. Beamon, and their union was filled with love, family, and shared faith. Larry was a devoted father and proud grandfather. His children and grandchildren were his greatest joy, and he cherished the time spent mentoring and encouraging them. Larry’s adventurous spirit inspired his children to embrace life’s opportunities and challenges with courage.
Larry was a man of simple pleasures and strong convictions. He loved fishing, watching football, attending church functions, and spending time with family. A lifelong and loyal Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Cowboys fan, he stuck with his teams through every win and loss, never wavering in his support.
He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, sense of humor, and unwavering dedication to his family. He was an active member of True Vine Church of Deliverance in Gates, NC, under the leadership of Pastor Dr. Julian Phillips, where he recently received his certificate of appointment as a Deacon and member of the Men's Ministry.
