Lenny Lamarr Bowser was born to the late Shelly Scott Bowser, Sr., and Geneva Riddick Bowser in Gates County, North Carolina on October 12, 1955.
Lenny, affectionately known as "Len" graduated from Central High School in Gatesville, North Carolina.
In 1975, he entered the United States Air Force, and after an honorable discharge, he moved to Portsmouth, Virginia. He worked as a bricklayer’s assistant and was known as a “jack of all trades” because he could do various jobs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Scott and Geneva Riddick Bowser, four brothers, John Bowser, Robert Earl Bowser, Leslie Riddick, and Shelly Scott, and one sister, Mildred Bowser Carmicheal.
Lenny leaves to cherish his memory, his special friend of 30 years, Darlene Bell of Portsmouth, VA; a loving sister, Pastor Virginia Ruffin-Joyner (Vernon) of Gatesville; a brother, George Riddick (Mary) of Edenton, North Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A viewing and visitation will take place on Tuesday from 4pm to 6pm at the funeral home.
A celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday October 17, 2024, 1pm at Mission of Hope Church in Gates.
Final resting place will be at Albert G. Horton Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk, Va.
