Linda Adams

Linda Dianne (Parker) Adams gained her angel wings August 5, 2021 at the age of 56. Throughout her battle with cancer, she displayed the resilience and courage her family knew her for.

Linda was born to Fred and Betty Marie (Liverman) Parker on June 27, 1965, and was the youngest of 7. After graduating from Gates County High School (Class of 1983), she went on to pursue an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration at Roanoke-Chowan Community College. Shortly after, Linda enlisted into the U.S. Air Force where she conducted tours in Japan, Turkey and Germany, and served in Operation Desert Storm. She gave 9 years of service to the military, and had attained the rank of Staff Sargent by the time of her discharge. After getting out of the military, Linda began working in the private sector as a Business Officer Manager and Office Automation Assistant.

Linda was a kind, pious woman of God, and a loving mother. She would offer a helping hand to mostly anyone, putting others before herself. She devotedly attended Sunday school and Bible study seeking knowledge and understanding inside and outside the church. She adored her family and was at her happiest when surrounded by her kin.

Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Liverman Parker and her brother, Larry Parker.

Linda is survived by her husband, Luther Young; her daughter, Danielle Vann (Janoah Vann); her sons, Darius Adams (Ayla Adams), Demetrius Adams, Donovan Adams, and Dominick Adams. She’s also survived by her father, Fred Parker; her sister, Mary (Parker) Costen (Robert Costen); and her brothers, Fred Parker, Michael Parker (Barbara Parker), Dyrell Parker and Rubin Liverman.

A visitation will be held Friday, August 13, 2021, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Community of Hope Funeral Home in Hobbsville, NC. The funeral will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Carpenter’s Shop Church in Ahoskie, NC at 11:00 AM.
