Linda M Parker

Linda M. Porter-Parker peacefully transitioned through heavens gates on Saturday, February 25, 2023. She was born to the late Jeff Porter and Ida Norfleet Porter. She was a lifetime resident of Gates County, NC.

Linda attended public schools in Gates County, where she graduated in 1977.  Linda then went on to hold several positions at Perdue Farms in Lewiston Woodville, NC. She later retired from Perdue Farms in 2014 after her health began to decline with 28 years of employment.

To know Linda was to love her.  She loved being the center of attention and brightening anybody’s day. She was known for her contagious smile, and welcoming hospitality. She enjoyed attending church, listening to music, dressing and glaming, and spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Tom, Jessie, Curtis, and Richard and sisters, Earsie and Mary.

She leaves to cherish in her memory: three sons, Curtis Parker (Jennifer) of Edenton, NC, Darius Parker of Eure, NC, and Kerron Jenkins (Merika) of Gatesville, NC; one special daughter, Simone Arline of Eure, NC whom she cared and adored as her own; five grandchildren: Sa’Quan, Tamarion, Jayvion, Tevin, and   Mason; two sisters, Louise Arline of Eure, NC, and Della Boone of Portsmouth, Va; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Porter of Suffolk, VA and Linda Smith of    Sunbury, NC; one brother-in-law, James Parker of Sunbury, NC, one god-child, Jason Gary, Jr., a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A viewing and visitation will take place on Sunday March 5, 2023, at the funeral home from 3pm to 6pm.

A celebration of life service will take place on Monday March 6, 2023, 1pm at Lebanon Grove Baptist Church in Gatesville, North Carolina.

Final Resting place will be at the church cemetery.
