Mabel Ann Elliott (October 18, 1948 – June 6, 2026)
Mabel Ann Elliott, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on June 6, 2026. Born in Chowan County, North Carolina, she lived a full life rooted in family, faith, and community.
She was married for 55 years to Ercelle Elliott of Gates County, a devoted partnership that stood as a testament to enduring love and shared values. Together, they built a family and a home filled with warmth, generosity, and resilience.
Mabel was predeased by her parents' Cleasie and Marion Overton and sister Virginia Boggs.
She leaves behind:
Her husband, Ercelle Elliott, Gates County, North Carolina
Daughter Denise Williams (Willie) of Suffolk, Virginia
Son Jonathan Elliott (Camilya) of Wilmington, Delaware
7 grandchildren Nazir Briley-Elliott, Tyniqua Elliott, Amya Nah, LaMie'r Elliott, Jonathan Elliott Jr, Jaiden Elliott, Nevaeh Elliott and 7 great grandchildren. Sister Isalean Overton of Murfreesboro, North Carolina. As well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Mabel’s legacy lives on in the extended family, friends, and neighbors whose lives she touched with kindness, support, and a ready smile.
In keeping with Mabel's personal wishes, there will be no public viewing or funeral service. Mabel desired to be remembered not through formal ceremonies, but through the love she shared, the lives she touched, and the precious memories she leaves behind. Her family respectfully asks that those who knew and loved her honor her memory in their own special way, reflecting on the kindness, warmth, and grace that defined her remarkable life.
