Margaret Hall Obituary

Margaret B. Hall, affectionately known as “Teene”, peacefully departed this life Sunday, May 22, 2022, with her loving family by her side.  She was born in Gates County, NC, August 25, 1953 to the late Ferdinand Boone Jr. and Eva C. Boone.

At a young age, Margaret joined Red Oak Grove A.M.E. Zion Church. She was immensely devoted and served the church ministry as a Deaconess. She enjoyed studying the bible and sharing this knowledge with others. Margaret loved working in the church and would support in any way she could. She remained a faithful member until her death.

Margaret graduated from Gates County High School in 1973.  She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Autumn Care Rehabilitation Center, in Suffolk, Va. Later, she worked at Sentara Obici Hospital, in Suffolk, Va., as a medical unit secretary until retirement. Later she worked at Damascus Road Worship Center’s after-school program, and her kindhearted spirit led her to care for many others in the community as a home aide.

After retiring, she had the opportunity to enjoy many of her hobbies which included maintaining her yard, feeding the neighborhood animals, taking dance lessons, playing the piano, and various crafting projects. She adored shopping, her fancy hats, and was very stylish.

Margaret was known by her friends and family as Teene.  She had her father’s sense of humor, and her mother’s intuition. She had a captivating laugh that would fill any room. Margaret loved spending time with her family, and looked forward to the annual Labor Day cookout she hosted each year.  She enjoyed the great conversations, laughter, and dancing. Margaret was a very caring and loving mother to her sons. She will be truly missed.

She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her four sons, Christopher Langston of Ahoskie, NC.  Gilbert Langston Jr. of Gates, NC, Fredrick Langston of Raleigh, NC, and Matthew Langston of Gates, NC; Three grandchildren, Christopher Langston Jr. of Winton, NC, Jaylen Skeeter of Suffolk Va, and Annika Langston of Raleigh, NC;  Four sisters, Barbara Knight (Darryl) of Gates, NC, Tabitha Boone of Gates, NC, Reginia Drewery of Prince George, Va, and Renita Murphy (Roy Lee) of Waverly, Va.  One brother, Frederick Boone (Terri) of Suffolk Va.  Six aunts, Bessie Costen, Fannie Sullivan, Audrey Cross, of Brooklyn NY, Lillian Cross of Manhattan, NY, Mary Cross-Sidky (Hassan) of Gainesville, Va, and Sarah Montague of Gates, NC; Two uncles, James Cross and Fred Cross of Brooklyn, NY; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
