Marion L. Stallings

Marion Louise Privott Stallings of Hobbsville, NC was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She departed this earthly life at her home on October 15, 2022.

Marion was born in Chowan County on October 19, 1938, to the late Robert Edward Privott and Lillie Reid Privott. She was the fourth of eight children: Edward Privott, Robert Privott, Jr., Fannie Jordan, Betty Jones, Percy Privott, John Privott, and Ann Elizabeth Privott.

Marion married Winfred David Stallings and to this union they raised nine children: Jeanette Walton, Patricia Stallings, Belinda Williams, Marlene Boyce, Sharon Riddick, Lori Stallings, Ingrid Stallings, Jeffrey Privott, and Anthony Privott.

Marion joined White Oak Baptist Church at an early age. She later moved her membership to Blanchard’s Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

She was employed with George C. Moore Company for 18 years and later became a homemaker.

Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Winfred Stallings; three brothers, Edward, Robert, John, and one sister, Ann Elizabeth.

She leaves to cherish her memories to Jeanette Walton of Sunbury, NC, Patricia Stallings of the home, Belinda Williams of Charlotte, NC, Marlene Boyce of Gatesville, NC, Sharon Riddick (Ralph) of Ahoskie, NC, Lori Stallings of Durham, NC, Ingrid Stallings (Troy) of Elizabeth City, NC, Jeffrey Privott (Lois Jean) of Jacksonville, NC, Anthony Privott (Sonia) of Gates, NC; 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

A viewing and visitation will be held on Thursday October 20, 2022 from 3:00pm-6:00pm at the funeral home.  A celebration of life will take place on Friday October 21, 2022 at 1:00pm at Blanchard's Grove Baptist Church.  Her final resting place will be at the Stallings Family Cemetery.
