Michael Shannon Harrell, Jr. passed away in the early morning hours on July 29, 2024, at the age of 34. Mike was born on September 12, 1989, to Michael Harrell, Sr. and the late Beverly Harrell.
Mike worked a host of different jobs, enjoying the variety of life and the thrill of learning new trades. He started his own business, BH & Son Transport in 2023 where it bought him a great amount of joy towing across North Carolina and Virginia. Mike always loved spending time with family where he could sit back, laugh and enjoy himself while talking about the many memories we had. His favorite artist to listen to was Tucker among so many other old school classics.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Beverly Harrell; and survived by his father, Michael Harrell, Sr., two children Michaela Harrell, Michael Harrell III, two sisters, Shanté Harrell of Sunbury, NC, Courtni Harrell of Corapeake, NC; aunts, Angela Hudson Lassiter of Corapeake, NC, Gloria Norman, of Chesapeake, VA, and Linda Harrell, Woodbridge, VA; uncles, Bobby Harrell (Beulah), Harrellsville, NC, Eugene Harrell (Rosa) Hobbsville, NC, Melvin Harrell (Beverly) of Richmond, VA, Larry Harrell (Patricia) of Suffolk, VA, Willie Harrell (Cynthia) of Harrellsville, NC; five nephews: Amari, Khaidyn, Jameer, Elijah and Amir and one niece, Avri. Mike also leaves behind a very special friend, Kimberly Farmer.
Mike will be truly missed as he was loved by so many.
A viewing and visitation will take place at the funeral home on Friday August 2, 2024, from 4pm to 7pm
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday August 3, 2024, 11am at Upper Room Assembly Church
Final resting place will be at Union Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.
Rest in peace, Lil Mike, your legacy of life and laughter will never be forgotten.
