Reginald Ray Cross was born February 27, 1955. He transitioned peacefully at 2:20 a.m. on June 25, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving and dedicated family. He was 67 years old. He never lost his wit or determination.
Reginald joined Stoney Branch Baptist Church at an early age, sitting on the front row between his father and grandfather. He learned about our Lord and Savior and as he leaves this earth, he takes those morals and values with him.
Reginald worked as a concrete truck driver throughout his life, winning the award best truck driver and employee. He was proud of his accomplishments. He will still live on in his children, grandchildren, and sisters.
Reginald was humble, kind, loving, caring and a good-hearted person. He touched so many lives by his selfless and countless acts of kindness. Even though he was private person, he was friendly and would give a helping hand to anyone that was in need. He loved old school cars and he loved to dress.
He was predeceased by his mother, Doris A. Boone Cross and his father, Vandell Cross of Gates, NC.; a brother, Charlie Vandell Cross of Gates, NC and a great granddaughter, Faith Harper of Courtland, Va.
Reginald leaves to cherish his memories: two daughters, Regina C. Cross (Jerry) of Suffolk, Va, Rashonda D. Cross (Dauntae) of Gates, NC; one son, Rashawn O. Cross (Desiree) of Newport News, Va,; six grandchildren: Tia Cross, Alexius Artis, DeShaun
Parker, DeMari Parker, Nariyah Cross, and Nyla Cross; three great grandchildren, Aniyah Cross, Anthony Harper, Miracle Harper; three sisters, Rachel Vaughan, Phyllis Kent of Gates, Cassie Boyd (Randolph) of Gates; one aunt, Mildred Dillard of Portsmouth, Va; two nieces, five nephews, a host of cousins and friends
A viewing and visitation will take place on Thursday June 30, 2022, from 3-6pm at the funeral home. On Friday July 1, 2022, at 1pm a Celebration of life service will take place at Upper Room Assembly Church, Gatesville, NC. Final Resting place will be at the Cross Family Cemetery, Gates, NC.
