Robert Lee Knight, 70, son of the late Joseph Lee Knight and Gracie Goodman Knight, was born on November 24, 1953, in Gates County, NC. He departed this life Sunday, July 07, 2024, at his residence.
Robert graduated from Gates County High School and enlisted in the United States Air Force serving for 24 years and 16 days.
Robert had a passion for mechanics. He worked as an Aircraft Maintenance Craftsman while in the military. He was his own automobile mechanic and often would lend his expertise to family members free of charge. He owned a 1977 Roadrunner in which he cherished and kept in impeccable condition.
In 1974, he married the love of his life, Cleo Riddick Knight. To this union they were blessed with three children.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Boy Knight, James Lee, and George Thomas; and two sisters, Shirley, and Julia.
Robert leaves to cherish his memory his former spouse Cleo R. Knight, Sumter, SC; two sons - Gregory Knight, Sumter, SC and Michael Knight, Charlotte, NC; one daughter - Jalicia Knight, Columbia, SC; two grandchildren; two sisters - Nettie F. Knight, Suffolk, VA and Joyce Brinkley, Norfolk, VA; two brothers - Daniel Knight (Brenda), Dover, DE, and Rufus Knight (Carolyn); a sister-in-law, Vivian Knight, Suffolk, VA, and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones. Robert will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, July 26, 2024 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m.
Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at New Middle Swamp Missionary Baptist Church.
