Robert L Parker

Robert "Leroy" Parker, 68, of Eure, North Carolina, departed this life on June 21, 2026.

Born on November 25, 1957, Leroy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Known for his warm smile, hardworking nature, and love for family, he touched the lives of many throughout his years and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Leroy dedicated 30 years of service to the North Carolina Department of Transportation before retiring. Following his retirement, he continued doing what he loved by establishing Robert's Affordable Painting, a business he operated with pride and dedication. Through his work, he earned the respect and appreciation of many throughout the community.

A faithful man of God, Leroy was actively involved in his church before being diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. He found great joy in sharing God's Word and uplifting others through his ministry. He was also a devoted member of the church choir and loved singing praises alongside his church family. His faith remained an important part of his life and served as an inspiration to many who knew him.

Outside of work and church, Leroy had a passion for racing. Alongside his brother, Donald "Shorty" Parker, he spent many years enjoying the sport and creating lasting memories with their race truck. Together, they became well known as "The Parker Brothers," a name recognized and respected by fellow racers and friends alike. Racing was not only a hobby but a source of joy, fellowship, and cherished memories.

Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee Parker and Willie Catherine Parker; his brother, Tracey Parker; and his son, Rashaan L. Nowell.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Debra Parker; his siblings, Vanda Bond, Donald "Shorty" Parker (Deborah), and Jessie Parker (Ivey); his children, Sharonda Lowther, Roderick Parker, and Latoya Smith (Vashaun); his beloved grandchildren, Tayvon Williams-Parker, Jayden Parker, Kennedy Lowther, De'Mel Parker, and Indya Smith; and his godson, Deshaun "Scooter" Sherman.

He also leaves behind his aunts and uncle, Frances Jordan, Mattie Briscoe, Dorothy White, and Barbara Parker (John), along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, church family, racing friends, and loved ones who will forever cherish his memory.

Leroy's legacy is one of faith, hard work, dedication, and love for family. Whether serving his community through his work, sharing God's Word, lifting his voice in song, spending time with loved ones, operating his painting business, or enjoying the excitement of the racetrack, he lived a life marked by perseverance, kindness, and commitment. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Though he is no longer with us in body, his spirit, faith, and legacy will remain forever in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

A viewing and visitation will take place on Friday June 26, 2026, at the funeral home from 4pm to 7pm.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday Junne 27, 2026, 11am at Greater Welch Baptist Church.

Final resting place will be at Greater Welch Church Cemetery.
