Roy Wilson began his journey in life on Jan 20, 1958, and departed this life on Saturday May 16, 2026, in Chesapeake VA. He was the son of L.D. and Doris Wilson. He was reared in a loving home with his four siblings.
Roy was a graduate of the 1977 class of Gates County High School. He began his working career with his father (L.D.) at the N.C. State Highway Department and ended his career with his brother (Louis) at ILA Local 1248. He was a dedicated employee in both positions.
Roy enjoyed hunting, fishing, baseball and horseshoe with his family members and lifelong friend Allan Hayer.
Roy was a kind man, always showing his love for his family to include daughter Brittney Riddick (Rudie) grandchildren who affectionately called him “Pop Pop”. Grandchildren Jamell, Rudie Jr. and Rhylee all whom will carry on his legacy.
The youngest of five he is preceded in death by his parents, L.D. and Doris Wilson and his sister Minister Fannie Green (Vinnie). Surviving siblings, Gloria Ballard (Otis), Louis Wilson (Brenda), Shirley Arrington (Johnnie) Aunts, Margie Jordan and Geraldine Pope, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins and his ex-wife, but lifelong friend Patsy Wilson.
The family will receive guests at the home of his daughter, Brittney Riddick from 1 pm - 7 pm daily. 32 Brinkley Rd, Corapeake, NC
A visitation for family and friends will be held at the funeral home on Friday, May 22 from 12 pm - 3 pm.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 23rd at 11:00 a.m. at Blanchard's Grove Baptist Church, Hobbsville, NC
Mr. Wilson's final resting place will be at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, Gates, NC
