Shamara Britt Obituary

Born Shamara Tiffany Britt on March 18, 1984 at the Naval Hospital onboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, NC, to Ashley E. Britt and Paulia A. Britt (Nelson).

Shamara departed this life on Tuesday, July 5, 2021 in Morgan Hill, CA after a prolonged illness.

Shamara grew up in the church and accepted Jesus Christ at a very early age.  She was a consistent attendee in Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, the youth ushers and the Girl Scouts.  She often participated in food drives and other volunteer efforts to help the elderly and the less fortunate.

Growing up as a military dependent, Shamara attended grade schools in many states, to include California, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, and ultimately graduated from Kailua High School, Kailua, Hawaii in 2002 where she was a member of the track team for several years.    She attended N. C. A&T S.U. before embarking on a working career and being a mother to her son Matthew.

Shamara was full of life and character and loved her grandma Eddie who affectionately called her ‘skeeter’.  She also loved recounting stories of our beloved ‘Uncle Clif’!   Well liked by her peers; loved by her family, Shamara was an avid lover of reading, movies, music, dancing and cartoons.

We will miss her as she is gone just too soon.  Cherishing her memory are her parents Ashley and Jacqueline Britt of Summerfield, NC, mother Paulia (Nelson) Watkins of San Jose, CA, son Matthew Graves of Greensboro, NC, brother Carlos Britt of Vacaville, CA, sister Jada Britt of Dallas, TX, paternal grandparents Jessie and Eddie Britt of Sunbury, NC, maternal grandparents Steve and Maryann Palmore of San Diego, CA, grandmother Altha Kee of Greensboro, NC, Uncle Jessie L. Britt, Jr. (Diane), of Greensboro, NC, Aunt Cheryl D. Britt of McCleansville, NC, Aunt Ruby L. Britt of Sunbury, NC, great-aunt Jesse Goodman of Brooklyn, NY, great-aunt Alice Patterson of Brooklyn, NY, great-aunt Marion B. Byrd of Corapeake, NC, great-uncle Kermit J. Britt (Ira) of Greensboro, NC, great-aunt Linda M. Britt of Miramar, FL: and a host of cousins, relatives and close friends.
