Sophia H Hurdle

Sophia Hurdle, born on December 20, 1946, in Gates County, North Carolina, peacefully transitioned from this life on December 10, 2025.  A woman of immeasurable love, quiet strength, and generous spirit, Sophia touched countless lives through the way she lived-full of kindness, compassion, and unwavering devotion to those she cherished.

Sophia was a wonderful mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend.  Her heart was always open, and her home was a place of warmth and welcome.  She found joy in sewing beautiful things by hand, cooking delicious meals, and feeding anyone who walked through her door-often insisting they take a plate home, too.  She truly believed that food was a love language, and she spoke it fluently.

She deeply loved her church, Zion Tabernacle, where she found spiritual nourishment, community, and purpose.  Her faith guided her daily life, and she poured that same love and dedication into everyone around her.

Family was the center of her world.  Whether traveling, shopping, or simply spending time together, Sophia made every moment meaningful.  She had a natural gift for caring for others, always putting their needs before her own with grace and gentleness.

Her legacy of love, generosity, and service will forever live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her.

A time of viewing and visitation for the beautiful life of Ms. Sophia Hurdle will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025, from 4pm to 7pm at the funeral home, where family and friends may gather to reflect, honor, and celebrate her remarkable journey.

A celebration of Life Service will follow on Friday, December 19, 2025, 12 noon at Zion Tabernacle where her love, legacy, and light will be remembered with dignity and joy.
