She had a beautiful smile that would brighten your day. Her life was full of love and laughter, family and friends. It is with a heavy, but joyful heart that we surrender her now to the arms of our Heavenly Father.
Susie H. Riddick, daughter of the late Joe Henry Hall and the late France K. Hall was born on December 29, 1927, and departed this life for her heavenly home on Tuesday, December 9, 2025. In her early childhood, Susie accepted Christ and joined Sycamore Hill AME Zion Church in Gatesville. She loved growing her flowers, having a summer garden, sewing and quilting, the presence of family, especially her children and grandchildren who were everything to her. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren thought she was the best grandma, too.
In addition to her parents, Susie was preceded in death by her husband, James Anthony Riddick; two sons, Willie Baker and Joe Henry Riddick; two grandsons, Joseph Barron and Willie Baker, Jr.; one sister; and six brothers.
Those left to cherish her legacy and memories are daughters, Erma Lamb and Robin Boone (Elvie); sons, James Milton Riddick (Glenda) and Oscar “Nat” Riddick; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Frances Goodman and Mary Eason; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, family and friends.
A time of viewing and visitation for the beautiful life of Ms. Susie Riddick will be held on Monday, December 15, 2025, from 4pm to 7pm at the funeral home, where family and friends may gather to reflect, honor, and celebrate her remarkable journey.
A celebration of Life Service will follow on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, 1pm at Sycamore Hill AME Church, where her love, legacy and light will be remembered with dignity and joy. Following the service, her earthly vessel will be gently laid to rest in the Riddick Family Cemetery.
**THE FAMILY KINDLY REQUEST THAT ALL VISITORS COME TO ERMA'S HOME BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 12PM AND 6PM. Your love, prayers, and support during this time are deeply appreciated**
