Susie Valentine

Susie Marie Riddick Valentine was born on September 13, 1948 to the late Mr. Will Arthur Riddick and Mrs. Thelma Riddick both of Gates, NC. She departed this earthly life on December 25, 2017.

Susie attended Central High School, where she played basketball and was a graduate of the Class of 1966. Upon graduating, she was employed by the Gates County Public Schools as a school bus driver. She also earned her certification in nursing, as well as working for Lipton Tea and Perdue.

Susie met the love of her life, the late  Mr. Charlie Ray Valentine. She married him and spent 40 years of her life with him.

Susie was preceded in death by both of her parents, two brothers, Will Arthur Riddick (Will, Jr.) and Dennis Lee Riddick, and one sister, Eva May Riddick.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories, three children: Charles Valentine (Lelita) of Gates, NC, Tracy Valentine (Aneisha) of Philadelphia, PA, and Stacy Valentine (Junnie) of Franklin, VA. In addition to her children, she leaves unconditional love to her 21 grandchildren, one great grandchild, two nieces, and three nephews.

 A celebration of life will take place on Thursday January 11, 2018 at 12:00pm at Upper Room Assembly. 807 Main St Gatesville, NC. Internment will follow at Albert G. Horton Veterans cemetery in Suffolk, VA

A visitation will take place on Wednesday January 3, 2017 from 4:00p-7:00p at the funeral home.
