On July 23, 2019, our Heavenly Father came to the bedside of our dear Buddy and took him by the hand to lead him to his eternal home.

Thurman completed most of his education within the Gates County Public School District.

He mentored and was an example to several young men who also played other instruments. They played as a band many weekends bringing a good time to all who heard them.
His love of music led him to meet Thelma White to whom he married on February 25, 1968. To this union, two children were born, James Corey and Nikkia Denise. In addition, Thurman received two added blessings, Joyce and Carolyn.
After Thelma’s death, Thurman was briefly united in marriage to Shirley Mae Hughes, who also preceded him in death.
Thurman accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior as a child.
