Mr. Tommie “Tomboy” Jones, the son of the late Willie, Sr. and Doris Jones was born on May 16, 1947, in Gates County, NC. He departed this life on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at his residence.

Born and raised in Gates County, Tom attended Gates County Public Schools, where he built the foundation for a life rooted in hard work and dedication. Throughout his lifetime, he was employed at Smithfield Packing in Smithfield, Virginia, and later at Walmart in Suffolk, Virginia, where he was known for his strong work ethic and kind spirit. His love for the Lord was unwavering, and his faith was the foundation of his life. Even in the midst of his illness, he never wavered in his devotion—continuing to give God glory, no matter how he felt. His strength, perseverance, and unshakable faith were an inspiration to all who knew him, and his legacy of love and service will live on in the hearts of those he touched.

Preceding Tommie in death was two sisters: Willie Mae Wilkins, Mary Wiggins and two brothers: George Jones and Kelay Jones, Sr.
