Vivian Hobbs Harris

You were a precious gift from God above

So much beauty grace and love.

Vivian Estella Hobbs Harris was born on October 25, 1934 to the late Herman Hobbs and Eliza Beamon Hobbs. Vivian departed this life on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk, Va.

Vivian was educated in the public school system, attending T. S. Cooper High School. She was employed by Norfolk General Hospital and retired after a ten year tenure.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Harris, Sr.; three sisters, Paulene Sparks, Cherry Brinkley, and  Savannah MacIntosh; two brothers,  Oliver and James Hobbs; one daughter, Maggie Hobbs.

She was proceeded in death by her daughter, Chinita Smith.

Cherishing her loving memories, she leaves two sons, Robert Lee Harris, Jr. (Pamela) of Gatesville, NC and  Roosevelt Harris (Valerie) of Sunbury, NC; two daughters, Peggy Boone (Norman) of Suffolk, Va and Joyce Ann Outland of Elizabeth City, NC; 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; two brothers, Dr. Robert Lee Hobbs (Susie) of Suffolk, Va and Thurman Hobbs; one sister, Myrtle Eure of Suffolk, Va, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

.A celebration of life will take place on Saturday November 11, 2017 at 1:00pm at Metropolitan Baptist Church.  Following the funeral service, she will be laid to rest at Carver Memorial Cemetery.  The visitation will take place on Friday November 10, 2017 from 3:00pm-8:00pm at Community of Hope Funeral Service.
