Ms.Vivian W. Riddick 81 of Gates, NC peacefully transitioned from this life on Thursday June 14, 2018 with her loving family beside her.
Vivian Walker-Riddick was born on February 18, 1937 to the late Mattie (Coleman) Walker and Reverend John Henry Walker Sr. She was raised by a devoted, late Aunt Susie (Coleman) Tate.
Vivian joined her loving husband, Chester E. Riddick Sr. in eternal life on June 14, 2018. She was baptized at an early age at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Mulga, Alabama. Her educational accolades include graduating from Fayetteville Technical Institute in 1979. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, and watching ‘Life Time’ movies. She often reminisced about returning to Hawaii she said, “One day, “I will return back there to live.”
She leaves to cherish her memories: Four Daughters: Sheila Riddick- Gipson of GA, Bonnie Riddick- Gipson of FL, Sharon Riddick (Thessalonians) McEachern of NC, Catrina Riddick-Williams (Brian) of NC.
Three Sons: Chester (Tricia) Riddick Jr. of FL, Calvin (Charlene) Riddick of NC, and Carl Riddick of NC.
Vivian was a loyal, devoted, and caring grandmother in addition to raising her seven children; she raised five of her grandchildren: Tony Dawson, Anthony Dawson, Thessalonians McEachern, Cheston McEachern, and her ‘sweetheart’ Nevaeh Riddick all of NC.
Her Sisters and Brothers at Heart: Four sisters: Lizzie Dunn, Lillian Gillium, Lucille Green, and Catherine Hill. Two Brothers: John Henry Walker Jr. and Jerome Walker; eleven grandsons, six granddaughters, nine great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
The family will receive friends on Saturday June 23, 2018 from 4:00pm-7:00pm at the funeral home.
A celebration of life will take place on Monday June 25, 2018 at 12:30pm at the Upper Room Assembly.
