Yvonne A. Moore

Yvonne Angela Riddick Moore, daughter of the late George M. and Mildred J. Riddick, was born on August 29, 1950 in Gates County, NC. After dealing with illness, Yvonne entered into her eternal rest on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Sentara Albemarle Hospital in Elizabeth City, NC.

Yvonne surrendered her life to the Lord at early age. She was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church where she attended until her health declined. Yvonne was a fun, loving, life of the party, caring, and compassionate individual who loved life and everyone she came in contact with. During her free time, Yvonne enjoyed shopping, attending athletic events, traveling, exploring different restaurants, and spending time with her family.

On January 1, 1994, she joined in holy matrimony with the late Elwood Moore and they remained married until his death.

Grandma Vonne, as she was affectionately called by her grandchildren, enjoyed hanging out and participating in all the extracurricular activities that her grandbabies were involved in. She believed her grandchildren could do anything they put their minds to and she encouraged them by faithfully being their biggest cheerleader.

Yvonne was educated within the Gates County Public School System. She furthered her education at Roanoke Chowan Community College where she earned her credentials as a Certified Nurse Assistant. Prior to her illness, she humbly served in the role of a CNA for more than 35 years. During her career, she was employed by Hertford County Health Services, The Brian Center Nursing Home, Elizabeth City Health Care and Rehab, Down East Nursing Home, Guardian Care, Gates House and many others.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mildred Riddick, her husband, Elwood Moore, her stepdaughter, Delphine Moore and her stepson, Reginald Moore.

Yvonne leaves to cherish her lasting memories: two daughters, Tammy Boone (Jimmy) and Felicia (Lisa) Beverly; one son, Demont Riddick (Clytia); four stepdaughters, Connie Wolfrey (Leslie), Faye Moore, Patsy Wilson, Phyliss Langston (Brent); ten grandchildren; Asha, Brandall, Nathan, Zari, Dahjari, Taleah, Promise, Demarius, Aziah, and Zyrah; eight step-grandchildren; one great grandchild, Kannon Riddick; eleven step-great grandchildren; two brothers, Larry Davis (Penora) and her twin, Leon Riddick (Ethel); a special family friend, Selena Eason, and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

A viewing and visitation will take place on Friday August 19, 2022 at the funeral home from 4pm-7pm.

A funeral service to celebrate a beautiful life will be held on Saturday August 20, 2022, 12 noon at Upper Room Assembly Church in Gatesville, NC.

Final resting place for Ms. Moore will be at Lebanon Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Gatesville, NC.
